Lately I’ve been trying to understand whether the whole Latvia residency-by-investment thing actually moves as quickly as they say. On paper it sounds pretty straightforward, but in reality I’m guessing there are delays that nobody mentions upfront. If anyone here went through the process, did the timeline match the “fast approval” promise, or did you end up waiting much longer? I’m trying to get a realistic picture before I commit to anything.

I didn’t apply myself, but two colleagues did, and both said the same thing: the timeline is roughly right as long as nothing needs corrections. Once something goes back for clarification, the whole schedule shifts. So maybe approach it with a bit of flexibility instead of counting the days too strictly.

From what I’ve seen, the official timeline does look optimistic, but it isn’t completely unrealistic either. When I submitted my papers last year, the actual waiting time ended up being a mix of small holdups—mostly because I misread part of the requirement list and had to redo one document. The basic sequence they describe on latvia residency by investment is accurate enough, but in practice every step depends on how clean your file is when you first hand it in. If you’re doing something like the bank deposit route, that part alone can add a week or two, simply because banks take their time confirming everything. So yes, the advertised speed is reachable, but only if you double-check your documents, stay responsive to the migration office, and don’t underestimate how long third-party steps can drag out.
