It’s December!! The end of Crazy Year 2020!
If you didn’t think things could change in unprecedented ways in the blink of an eye, this should have been the year you learned that they can.
The disruptions overlaying disruptions today, are creating a chaos that makes it harder than usual to plan for the future; but I hope you will take some time during the month to reflect, reassess and decide what you want to achieve in 2021 and beyond.
For me, financial freedom is an ongoing goal that is central to everything I do.
- To be in a position where money is never the factor guiding the decisions I make.
- To know that I have enough to weather any storm and have the resources to take advantage of any good opportunities I run across.
- To be able to live the life I choose and provide for my son the way I want
For most, there is trust that retirement plans, bank accounts, and stock markets will continue on as they always have. But what is the guarantee?
- Governments are failing,
- Monetary and fiscal policies have been corrupted beyond recognition around the world,
- The whole fabric of our economic basis has been turned on its head with negative interest rates,
- Lock-downs and fear mongering have created civil disobedience to civil unrest depending on where you are in the world,
- Our personal rights and freedoms have been infringed on in the name of safety, but safety from whom?
Do you really think that saving for the future will remain unchanged through all this disruption?
Then why are you still just using government and corporate backed retirement plans to secure your financial freedom?
True, there is money to be made in this last gasp of the old, but it can’t be done blindly or without a plan for what comes next.

I’m not a futurist, but investing has brought me in contact with some amazing futurists and the opportunities that abound.
Not only is it securing my future, it is also allowing me to help shape what that future should be. I have learned that how I invest and where I invest has more impact today than my electoral vote ever had.
It took me 10 years to go from losing my retirement savings in the 2008 financial crisis to having the freedom to live where I want, doing what I want, with whom I want. Today, the same can be achieved in half the time, but this opportunity won’t last forever.
Crisis causes wealth transfer. If you are not ready to be on the receiving end of that transfer you will definitely be on the losing end.
