How do you know when a bullish engulfing candle is valid I’ve been studying candlestick formations and I find the bullish engulfing candle particularly interesting. But I still struggle to understand when it’s actually valid and not just a fakeout. Sometimes I see what looks like a reversal, but then the price keeps falling. Are there specific confirmations or filters you guys use to avoid false signals? Would love to hear your strategies.

That makes a lot of sense. I usually ignored volume but now I see why it's a crucial piece. Will definitely combine it with RSI next time I see this setup. Thanks for the tips!

Yeah, confirming the bullish engulfing candle is super important. I usually look at three things before acting on it: volume spike on the engulfing bar, presence of a support zone nearby, and RSI divergence. If all three align, it’s a strong case. Also, it’s helpful if the en... gulfing candle appears after a clearly defined downtrend — that’s key. I’ve been using this setup on the 4H chart with solid results. A good example is when the candle forms right after a series of lower lows and then breaks above the last candle’s high. That’s a textbook sign. But I never enter blindly — always use a tight SL and trail it once the move starts. Show more...
