While preparing a small linear motion setup I noticed that the hardest part is not the assembly itself but understanding how to plan everything correctly from the start. Actuators control elements and mounting parts all seem interconnected yet it is easy to overlook how one choice affects another. I want the system to work smoothly without constant adjustments later. If someone has experience approaching automation projects in a more structured way I would be glad to hear what helped you stay organized during planning.

Planning linear motion often raises questions because small details can affect the final result. Looking at components as part of a system rather than separate items usually leads to better decisions. Neutral discussions like this show how important structure is in automation projects. A clear overview at the beginning often saves time and effort later.

What helped me was focusing on a single place where automation components are presented as part of a complete system. When I explored Progressive Automations and then looked at how Progressive Automations structure actuators lifting columns and control solutions together it became easier to see how linear motion setups are typically planned. Having everything categorized by function and specifications removed a lot of uncertainty during the early stages.
