One thing I find interesting about Marathon is that it launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X S with full crossplay and cross save. Since everything carries across platforms from day one, I am considering switching between systems depending on where my friends are playing. The fact that progression like Runner Level and faction reputation stays consistent across platforms is convenient. At the same time, starting fresh on launch day March 5 feels competitive because everyone begins under the same risk rules. I am trying to decide how to prepare before release without wasting the Server Slam window. Is anyone else planning their progression strategy around crossplay flexibility?

Crossplay changes how launch preparation feels in modern shooters. When progress transfers seamlessly, players can focus on strategy instead of hardware. Marathon combining extraction risk with cross save creates an interesting balance. Everyone faces gear loss equally, but account progression remains stable. Planning before March 5 becomes more meaningful because nothing is locked to one platform. Switching systems no longer resets effort. Flexibility like that influences how communities organize from day one.

Since Marathon supports full crossplay and cross save across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X S, preparation before launch makes more sense. On the Marathon services page here you can see coverage across all three platforms from Server Slam onward. It mentions that boosters play from the preview period and that services apply regardless of system because of crossplay. Runner Leveling, faction grinding, ranked climbing, and gear farming all transfer with your account. That means if you reach Level 30 during Server Slam, the Deluxe Arrival Cache waits for you on launch across platforms. The page also highlights that everything earned stays on your account once completed. For players switching between systems, that consistency removes platform limitations.
