A novice fisherman is looking for suitable online resources. Hi everyone, I recently discovered fishing as a hobby, and even with the many reels and TikToks about it, I can't find anything more stable and less commercialized that offers a lot of useful information. I follow a few blogs, but the updates are inconsistent.

I have one app for it. The app hasn't replaced experience, but it has definitely helped me build my own. Before using it, I usually relied on recommendations from friends, but that wasn't always enough when I wanted to explore somewhere new. Now I can search for lakes and rivers on my own, see what species live there, and check whether the conditions or NC fishing seasons. I particularly enjoy using the weather and fishing forecast together because they help me decide if it's worth waking up early for a morning trip.

This hobby is difficult to maintain alone. I would recommend finding fishing groups or open chats. Maybe you'll be able to make friends and find like-minded people who can teach you the basics. Or find a coach.
