My small online store has been getting more visitors lately, and I'm starting to think it's time to move away from the basic hosting plan I've been using for years. At first everything worked fine, but during sales and holiday promotions the site slows down enough that customers notice. I'm trying to decide between cloud hosting and a dedicated server before things get worse. If you've gone through the same stage with a growing business, what made you choose one over the other, and did you regret your decision later?

    I've noticed that once a project starts expanding, the little organizational details become just as important as the technical ones. Keeping good records, reviewing services from time to time, and avoiding rushed decisions has saved me plenty of headaches. Taking a bit of extra time to compare options usually pays off much more than making a quick choice based only on price.

    I went through almost the same thing with a client's website. We started on a simple shared plan, then moved to cloud hosting once traffic became less predictable. The biggest advantage for us was being able to handle sudden spikes without planning hardware upgrades months in advance. Later, as the project kept growing, we compared different providers, checked reviews, and even looked at things like uptime history and support quality. I also spent time comparing domain registrars because it was easier to keep everything organized under reliable services. For many growing businesses, cloud hosting turned out to be a flexible middle ground before committing to dedicated infrastructure
