‘Imaginative Insights’ has been operating for over four years with Annelize Booysen at the helm. Her mission being to work with as many future-focused entrepreneurs as she can and help them bring their ideas to life. With a thriving business before the pandemic as they operated online, Annelize didn’t see much change during 2020.

What was needed though was a top-up of skills. Annelize wanted to understand how to up-level what they were already doing, as well as take a moment to focus on all the tasks that needed to get done but somehow always slipped to the bottom of the to-do list. Annelize was also aware of updating the products Imaginative Insights were teaching to its own clientele, never one for being left behind.

  • An Essential Reminder

To accomplish these tasks Annelize joined The Entrepreneur Summer School. The various courses that were on offer allowed her to take stock of her business, so she could see what assets the business had but also uncover any hidden value that was waiting to be leveraged.

It wasn’t just about gaining perspective. The summer school gave Annelize a chance to go back to basics because sometimes starting from scratch is the best way to remember what is important in your business and why you operate the way you do. Too often business owners get lost in the workings of their business, Annelize shares, forgetting what actually needs to be worked on and what doesn’t. Having seen her clients do this many times over, Annelize was keen to avoid falling into the same trap.

The biggest clarity Annelize found in ESS was the partnership opportunity. Her business being at a crucial growth point, it was the perfect time to focus on growing in this area. To do this she utilised the training from the Partnerships Microschool to build a partnerships pathway for Imaginative Insights.

  • Planning for a Bright Future

Annelize was also able to find a rhythm with her planning, to the point where shortly after the school ended, she built out a full year schedule. A feat that before seemed impossible. ESS also supported her growth by connecting her with global entrepreneurs focused on achieving their own goals, which gave her the accountability and motivation she needed. And by being surrounded by people who were slightly further ahead, Annelize could also see a whole world of new possibilities and learn from their collective experiences. Thus resulting in her own learning leaping forward.

A key lesson for Annelize was to stay more in the moment and focus on the task at hand. You might go slower but ultimately you travel faster towards success. And with ESS being so intense and in-depth, it forces you to do just that, accompanied by all the accountability you could ever need.
