We spoke with Anthony Chadwick, founder of The Webinar Vet, about his entrepreneurial journey

How did you come across Genius Group and what inspired you to join the community?

I was hoping to take my business global, but my overseas partners struggled to adopt my complex business model, which involves providing CPD training for vets around the world and organising virtual conferences.  Working with overseas partners required a great deal of my time to help them adapt it to their respective countries’ models.

This is where meeting Roger and joining Crystal Circle, a high-level mentoring group for entrepreneurs, was instrumental.

Roger shared with me the difference between magnify and multiply strategies.  Multiply is when you make something simple and then create many, whereas magnify is when you have one thing and make it more complex.  Roger told me that the multiply strategy wasn’t the right one for my company because what I was doing wasn’t simple. My value wasn’t in the business system but in my contacts and the way I structured the community in the UK; these weren’t easy to multiply.  Roger made me see that I was better off with the magnify strategy.

With the multiply strategy, you are asking how it could happen without you, whereas the magnify strategy is about increasing your brand attraction and having more people come to you.

Roger advised, “Instead of trying to find other people doing what you are doing in their own countries, reach out to vets around the world.”

This was how I created a virtual global vet conference. I could now have vets come to me from all over the world, and I was able to manage it all from the UK.

The conference proved to be a huge success with thousands of people attending from around the world. As a result, it became the largest vet conference on the planet, occurring annually.

What was your experience in Crystal Circle?  Did the mentoring benefit you and your business?

Crystal Circle helped me grow my company further, but I was still struggling to attract investors. Roger pointed out that I should stop thinking of my company as a medical company.

He told me, that as a webinar company, my business was actually an online business, and I could obtain a very different evaluation if I presented it as a tech company.  The moment we made this change we received interest from people because I was able to share my business vision in terms of growth as a tech company.

I managed to raise half-a-million dollars in investment, which would have been nearly impossible if I hadn't joined Genius Group's Crystal Circle and made the simple shift in thinking from being a medical company to a tech company.

Since that investment, my ability to think globally and as a tech company has continued to grow. The virtual webinar conference has grown every year, and it now attracts thousands of vets from around the world.
