What does seem clear is that AI is here to stay, and today’s students will enter a world where they’ll be expected to engage with it. So students must understand the capabilities—and limitations—of AI tools, even as those capabilities rapidly evolve. With teachers’ help, students can learn not to rely on AI, but rather to use it in a responsible way that supports their learning process, and teachers can request transparency and accountability whenever students use these tools on their own.

9 Tips for Using AI for Learning (and Fun!)

Technological innovation is fundamentally transforming education, and updating the skills required for modern work. Building future-ready (and pandemic-proof) education systems requires curricula fit for the 21st century, coupled with the consistent delivery of widely-accessible instruction that builds a solid foundation for a lifetime of adapting and developing new abilities. Specialized education should focus in particular on skills that are in demand in the real world, and address the disconnect between employer needs and available talent pools.

Join me for 'Use Lateral Reading to Evaluate Online Information' on the 20th of July. Find out more under the Eduwebinar Events tab or at https://app.geniusu.com/events/4856 Lateral reading is the process of consulting multiple sources and viewpoints to gain a deeper understanding of a topic or claim. It's a valuable tool for evaluating online information because it allows you to assess the source's credibility, the information's accuracy, and the overall reliability of the content. By using lateral reading, you can assess the information from multiple angles and perspectives, which can help you identify any biases or inaccuracies. This can also help you avoid the pitfalls of confirmation bias, where you only seek out information that confirms your pre-existing beliefs.
