Since last weekend, it's been cold and snowy in Canada.
I know because it has been alternating cold, wet and cold&wet in Louisiana. :)
So rather than take on the streets of New Orleans or Baton Rouge (our original plan last weekend)
We spent the weekend in the library.
Today, everything we could ever want to know is at our fingertips.... right on our phone.
But the library is still a place I love to spend time, surrounded by books.
A million ideas, stories, characters all in one place.
Reading is my favorite pass-time, but I don't get to do it as much since starting Wealthy Wise Woman
Most of my reading today is focused on staying at the forefront of what I teach.
But every once in a while, when it is cold outside...
I'll wander into a library,
> randomly select an aisle,
> close my eyes and
> run my hand along the spines of the books
Then stop and pull out the book at my fingertips, to read for the day.
This process has introduced me to the most obscure books, amazing authors, engaging stories, and fascinating topics of investigation throughout my life.
And surprisingly, more often than not, the book I pull is exactly the book I need to read at that point in time.
Trust the universe, it will bring you what you need when you need it.
If you haven't taken a weekend off to read something just for pleasure, I encourage you to do it.
When most people think of financial freedom, they think of the flashy things like boats and cars, big houses and traveling to exotic places.
But my lifestyle didn't become any more extravagant when I achieved financial freedom. Travel was always a priority and still is. Experiences more than things are what give life meaning.
The quiet pleasures of spending time in the yard with the dog, going to the park with your partner, or spending a day in the library with your son. These are still some of my most pleasurable activities in life.
The only difference with financial freedom is that your choices are made without consideration for cost.
Wishing you a great weekend to rejuvenate, however you choose to do it!
