Penchant Design started in 2003 and has grown slowly but steadily to where it finds itself today – a beautiful store in the delightful little town of Franschhoek, in the Cape winelands of South Africa, with upstairs office, design-and-diamond office and photographic studio and a fully equipped workshop.

While Penchant Design has an impressive portfolio of bespoke designs, together with a wide range of beautiful jewellery, our passion has always been for daisies. The first ring we ever produced was a plain silver band with four engraved daisies on it, and our range of daisy designs just keeps growing. Everything from our more delicate little Blossom designs to the bigger pieces in our Daisy range. And each Daisy and Blossom design is given their own lady’s name – Diane, Catherine, Margaret, Desray and so many more.

We love mixing different golds and we love coloured gemstones, and our Daisy and Blossom designs provide the perfect opportunity to play with an endless range of colour combinations.

As part of our personalized design service, we also remodel old, out-of-style jewellery and design pieces around stones you might already have. Penchant fully appreciates sentimental value, and we strive to take the utmost care with the possessions entrusted to our care. Also, with our fully equipped workshop, we’re able to do a wide range of repairs, including simple cleaning, polishing and plating, sourcing and replacing missing or damaged stones, replacing or repairing damaged metal and even restringing of pearls and other necklaces. Penchant Design also provides valuation certificates for insurance purposes and replacement quotes for stolen and missing jewellery.
