Where does our attitude to sales come from?

In the past the perception of the salesperson has been rather negative. We can all think of times when a sales experience has been a rather unpleasant or uncomfortable process.

Much of that feeling came from the traditional sales models which focused very much on closing the sale, being pushed into buying something, whether we needed it or not.

Now the focus does seem to be shifting from ABC ( Always be closing!) to opening up a more a trusted conversation, creating the right environment to have a two-way interaction where both parties feel listened to, respected and valued.
