“One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through and it will be someone else’s survival guide.” — Brené Brown

The words you choose to describe the things that happen to you throughout your life literally shape your very experience of life at that moment and have the power to change the outcome.

For instance, you can either blame life and say things like this are just too hard, I am just going to call it quits, I never get a break and cannot do this anymore, this situation is so horrible… how on earth am I going to cope with this…etc

OR you can say, it is okay not to have a solution right now, but I am going to work with what I have and make the best out of the situation. I am grateful for everything else that is good in my life and those things are enough to get me through this difficult time.

With that being said it is not easy to be strong, practical, and peaceful during challenging scenarios. It takes a great deal of self-awareness to restructure the way you think and talk about the struggles in your life. And most importantly, it takes an open optimistic mind.

However, kind words and positive self-talk can make a huge difference to your reality, feelings, and ability to cope with life’s challenges. Giving reason as to why it is so important for us to all become acutely aware of how we talk to ourselves and the people around us and change the dialogue and tone to be more accepting, positive, logical, and understanding.

It takes commitment too, because ultimately it’s not a decision you make once, it’s about how you live moment to moment. It’s deciding to take root in your own resiliency time and again.

“The middle is messy but it’s also where the magic happens.” — Brené Brown

Therefore, to sum up, my message to you today, I encourage you to take notice of your words and actions when you find yourself in a challenging life situation. Become aware of how you respond and deal with negative emotions. For what you do at that moment can determine the outcome and your reality thereafter.

In love, light, and happiness
